Intrusive liquid-cooled cabinets are designed to directly remove heat from high-performance computing components such as CPUs, GPUs, and AI accelerators using liquid rather than air. These systems are increasingly essential as rack power densities exceed 20–50 kW, surpassing the capabilities of traditional air cooling systems . Liquid cooling leverages the superior thermal conductivity of fluids, which can be up to 1,000–3,000 times more effective than air, enabling higher compute density and energy efficiency .

  1. Direct-to-Chip (Cold Plate) Cooling
    • Coolant is circulated through plates attached directly to processors and GPUs.
